The Family Garden
Moving in the direction of the church you’ll come to the Family Garden: three gnarled apple trees protect the statue in the centre appropriately titled Family Tree, featuring two adults and two children – the size of our family - which could have been made for the site. The planting throughout the whole garden is in ‘cottage garden’ style and here it’s mainly blues, whites and yellows, with many plants allowed to seed themselves and lots of old-fashioned favourites like lavenders, pinks, hollyhocks and poppies mixed with clematis, dahlias and chalk loving perennials like eryngium, scabious and anthemis.
